Maile Handy

My message was to portray African Americans leaving the dark place where they were silenced for years and abused by people just for the color of their skin. I wanted to show that African Americans have gained some of their voices back and are being heard and stuck up for, however some voices still muffled, therefore the hand over the mouth.
