Kathleen Dillon

I wanted to document the journey African Americans have gone through in the history of our country. I wanted to demonstrate that it has been a long and difficult journey that still continues today. The collage starts with pictures of slavery in the 19th century and then moves onto Abraham Lincoln and the Emancipation Proclamation. Next is the Civil Rights movements in the 1960s with Rosa Parks, John Lewis, and Martin Luther King Jr. Then there are pictures of the current Black Lives Matter movements occurring across America.
